The Open Notebook is seeking applicants for fellowships that give early-career science writers the opportunity to write five articles over a four-month period on the craft of science writing.
The fellows “will produce a total of five articles for publication at The Open Notebook—a mix of ‘story behind the story’ interviews, reported features, and other resources, with the guidance of a mentor who will help shape story ideas, provide reporting and writing guidance as needed, and edit final copy,” writes Siri Carpenter, The Open Notebook’s co-founder and editor-in-chief.
If you’re interested, get moving. The next fellowship begins Nov. 15th.

Thanks, Paul. We’ve gotten enthusiastic response so far, and we look forward to making some difficult choices! Our previous two fellows, Tina Casagrand and Tien Nguyen, did a bang-up job — they’ll be hard acts for anyone to follow!
(A few people have written us to inquire whether international applicants are eligible. The answer is yes, they are; applications, including writing samples, do need to be in English.)
