One of these days there will be a lede like this with no twist in the story: The middle-age man with fever, cough and shallow breath told his doctor he had just returned to Northern California from a chicken farm in Vietnam. That rang the first alarm bell.
False alarm, this time, as AP’s Scott Lindlaw provides, from the city of Richmond on SF Bay, a good and dramatic glimpse of nervous docs awaiting the inevitable first US human case.
