The Association of Health Care Journalists just announced its new slate of officers, and two of the four are from non-traditional media.
Charles Ornstein (top left) of ProPublica is the new AHCJ president, and Julie Appleby (bottom left) of Kaiser Health News is the secretary. Traditional journalism still holds the other two slots, in the persons of Karl Stark of The Philadelphia Inquirer (veep, top middle) and Ivan Oransky of Reuters (treasurer, top right). Trudy Lieberman of the City University of New York (bottom right), board president for the past five years, becomes immediate past president.
