Bio:
Born in 1970 in Warsaw, Poland. Filmmaker, photographer, writer. Dedicated rock climber and scuba diver. Studied chemistry in Warsaw, screenwriting, directing and documentary film production at Harvard and MIT. The Explorers Club fellow and vice chair of the Polish Chapter of the Club. Former Editor-in-Chief of National Geographic magazine in Poland, TEDx speaker, Canon Ambassador. Focused on covering expeditions, exploration and popular-science topics.
Marcin is author of three books on exploration and history – about Nazi shipwrecks in the Baltic Sea, North-West Passage sail expedition, Vistula River treasure hunt – and two books for children on biggest explorers and biggest inventors. His photographs were displayed on more than 10 photo exhibitions in Poland and UK. He shot climbing films in Mali and Madagascar, in 2010 filmed in Cambodia “No Man's Left Behind” – on the search of MIA from the last battle of the Vietnam War (with Michael Barnes, 2010 KSJ Fellow too). He also made two films for UNESCO. For the last ten years Marcin has been working with Konstanty Kulik on the “River of Treasures” – feature length documentary about the successful treasure hunt expedition and underwater discovery of the 17th century marble sculptures of the Polish king. Film had it's premiere at The Explorers Club headquarter in New York in March 2018.
