Much apology to astronomy news fans. The Tracker was just finishing up a snappy update on news from the American Astronomical Soc’y meeting in Long Beach this morning when, poof. While cleaning up a few clumsy errors in the html coding and trying to save the thing, somehow it just exploded into another dimension. Irrecoverably gone. So many links, so many jewel-sharp remarks, all gone. Hence the small haul today. This afternoon the meeting is holding a press conference on an extragalactic signal that is of much import to cosmologists. Tomorrow I’ll get to that and recover some of the stories I nearly had today before the default (all-thumbs) mode kicked in.
