Michael Morisy, co-founder of Muckrock, a Cambridge-based nonprofit specializing in access to public records, will discuss everything from illuminating intelligence agencies to battling for public records act reform. Muckrock works with publications from Vice to Businessweek, seeking to pry information loose from reluctant government agencies. In this session, he will explore some key case studies in accessing public records, review successful techniques for acquiring information (and some less successful), offer a comparison of how to approach local, state, and federal agencies, and answer any questions you may have related to your projects. https://www.muckrock.com/
(Attendance for this session is limited to current KSJ Project Fellows.)
