Seminar: Alicia Kennedy on Writing, Research, and Plant-Based Eating

The Knight Science Journalism Program at MIT is excited to welcome Alicia Kennedy, Food and Culture Writer, for a discussion of her new book “No Meat Required: The Cultural History & Culinary Future of Plant-Based Eating.”

Ms. Kennedy will talk about how she she uses scientific research, specifically around food and behavior, to guide the tone and content of her writing without making it the driving force, especially when it came to her book. Specifically, her understanding of how most omnivores respond to plant-based food or vegans/vegetarians has allowed her to write not for them but with their concerns addressed.
