Seminar: A Cortical Circuit for Audio-Visual Predictions

The Knight Science Journalism program is honored to welcome Dr. Aleena Garner, Assistant Professor  at Harvard Medical School’s Department of Neurobiology for a seminar on memory and predictive processing in the brain.

Memories are not only a link to our past. We use them to predict the future. I will discuss recent work that describes how the brain implements predictive processing and how neural circuits in auditory and visual cortex perform predictive coding.
