A User’s Guide to Data Journalism (Fellows Only)

Charles Seife, a professor of journalism at New York University’s Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute, has been writing about physics and mathematics for almost three decades. He is the author of seven books, including Zero: The Biography of a Dangerous Idea (2000), and, most recently, Hawking Hawking: The Selling of a Scientific Celebrity (2021). In this online seminar, Seife will give an overview of the ways that data journalism can be used to make science stories smarter, with some instructional tips for data analysis using Excel and other methods that are easily accessible to journalists.
