We’re excited to roll out the new Knight Science Journalism website this week, not only because it’s a brighter, smarter look, but because it’s a signal of other coming changes at the program.
We’ll be adding and refining new pages that will provide a catalogue of helpful resources for science writers, on subjects ranging from training programs to data journalism videos. We want to make the KSJ website a valuable resource not only for our fellows but for journalists around the world interested in learning more about the profession. We’ve also added this blog, Dispatches, to share information as we add and build onto the program.
You’ll see a couple indicators of other changes on the site already — including short descriptions of our plans to offer new forms of support for science journalists, some offering a shorter course of study, others designed to help nurture independent journalism projects.
Most exciting – at least to me! – you’ll find a tab titled “Magazine”. If you go there you’ll find a short teaser about the new science magazine we plan to launch in the spring. We’ll be updating all of these during the year and we’ll make a point of announcing them both here and on social media. So keep checking us out – we can promise you a future of plans worth watching.
