Bio:
Iván Carrillo is a health and environmental journalist based in Tepoztlán, Morelos, a small town in the mountains, south of Mexico City. Currently, he is editor-in-chief of the Tec review platform that intersects innovation, entrepreneurship, and science content. He is also the host and produces the content for a science newscast for 19 countries in Latin America.
Two recent projects that particularly excite him are. On the one hand, Histories sin Fronteras, where he has generated a Latin American network of science journalists to tell stories of a cross-border nature.
On the other, En Común —Conocimiento en viva Voz— a podcast of conversations with scientists aimed at indigenous communities in Mexico.
Iván has been editor and reporter for Quo magazine and has collaborated in El Universal, Expansión, Milenio, among other important national media.
As well, he is the host of the program Los Observadores for TV Azteca. He has contributed to Discovery Channel, Newsweek en Español, CNN en Español, History Channel, among other media.
His work has received national and international awards, and recently he has become part of the worldwide community of National Geographic explorers.
