Today, we stop our normal routine for a moment to note the following, from The Associated Press:
The average age for the four living members of The Rolling Stones is about two years older than the nine justices of the U.S. Supreme Court.
The average age of Jagger, Richards, Watts, and Wood is 68 years and 297 days, reports some back-office AP statistician. The average for the Supreme Court justices is 66 years and 364 days.
The AP, content to let these numbers speak for themselves, notes quietly that the Stones are celebrating their 50th anniversary this year with a five-date tour in New York, New Jersey, and London.
That leaves the Tracker with the thorny task of determining what this age thing means. (Except, perhaps that somebody on the AP copy desk had too much time on his or her hands.)
